BMW 2002 Turbo tribute. 2 year 1,000 hour build to a very high standard.
- The car started life in the USA and was then exported to Japan. The car was then imported into NZ as a rolling shell. The car was stripped down to a bare shell and the body was taken back to bare metal and fitted with body kit.
- Raycroft in Christchurch installed a six point roll cage and then the car had a light sand blast. Once the panel and paint was completed they fabricated a BMW Z3 rear suspension beam into the car. A original beam will still bolt straight in if you wanted to change it back. Then had a E30 325 diff rebuilt with a new American 80% LSD kit fitted. E30 rear brakes were fitted up with EBC Yellow pads and new rear wheel bearings.
- The front and rear adjustable shocks are XYZ Racing. The front hubs are BMW E34 with big brakes which pull up the car very well , new rotors on the front with Padgid blue pads.
- The engine was rebuilt by Caraid in Christchurch.
- The clutch is an Exedy heavy duty clutch coupled up to a Getrag 260 5 speed gearbox and custom made driveshaft with new centre bearing and new universal joints. The ECU is a Haltec Elite. The car has headlamps, tail lamps and hazard lights that work. The car also has adjustable brake bias and two speed electric cooling fan.
- The wheels are off an E30 M3 and I have a matching spare all with new Nexon tyres. I also have a set of 4 wheels that were powder coated gold that are part of the deal. The car will come with a spare gearbox, 2002 Turbo front spoiler , fibreglass rear bumper .
This car is basically brand new with everything new or rebuilt to a high standard. It has only done a couple of shakedown days.
Just haven’t had the time to use it.
