An independent vehicle check completed by a qualified third party — separate from the seller and separate from the listing — so you can buy from a distance with confidence.
Buying a vehicle internationally can feel risky — especially when you can’t physically inspect it before you commit. A pre-purchase inspection removes that uncertainty by giving you an independent view of the vehicle’s condition before you proceed.
It typically includes a structured assessment of the vehicle’s condition, highlights key issues, and provides useful notes for buyers who need extra confidence. Because it’s separate from the seller and the listing itself, it adds a genuine verification step you can trust.
To keep inspections completely transparent and unbiased, we use New Zealand’s most reputable pre-purchase inspection companies. For specialist vehicles — high-end Japanese performance cars, European classics, new supercars or USA muscle — we use specialist contacts with expert knowledge right across New Zealand.
Independent inspections, priced per vehicle. Inspections are non-refundable.
For a vehicle listed with Importify, the process typically follows these steps.
Open the car you're interested in from our inventory and click Book Pre-Purchase Inspection on that listing. Not sure which listing is the right one? Contact us first and we'll point you to it.
Our team checks the plate and listing details to make sure your request is matched to the correct car, with a clear paper trail from request through to outcome.
We organise the inspection with an independent provider and handle any scheduling steps. If anything needs clarifying — plate, location, access or timing — we'll be in touch.
The independent provider completes the inspection and returns their findings on the vehicle's condition.
We share the result, help you understand what it means for your purchase, and recommend next steps — all before you pay a deposit.
Search the car you’re interested in and go straight to booking its independent pre-purchase inspection. Can’t find it? Contact our team and we’ll match it for you.
If the vehicle is still arriving, the inspection is booked now and carried out once it lands in New Zealand.
