Two things New Zealanders come here for: selling a car to buyers overseas, and working out what our prices mean at home. We market JDM, performance and prestige cars from New Zealand to the world, and every price on this site is an export price, excluding GST.
We list New Zealand–located cars and sell them to buyers overseas. You submit the car, we review it, and once it is live we market it, qualify the buyers and handle the export. My Garage is where you watch that happen and ask for changes.
Enter your number plate or chassis number and we pull the make, model, year and odometer from CarJam so you are not typing them in. Add transmission, confirm the details, set your asking price, submit. There is no listing fee.
Every submission is checked by our team before it goes live: the details, the photos, and where the asking price sits against what the car will actually achieve overseas. Nothing publishes automatically.
Once live, the listing is ours to run. We present the car to overseas buyers, qualify the enquiries, and handle the export end when it sells. You are not fielding tyre-kickers from three time zones.
Your listings sit in My Garage with their current status. A live listing is managed by us rather than edited directly, so when something changes (price, details, availability) you request the change there and we apply it. That is deliberate: it keeps one version of the car in front of buyers.
Most of the cars listed here are placed with us by their owner for international consignment only. We are appointed to present the car to buyers overseas and to handle the export. That is the arrangement the seller agreed to, and it is what the listing is built for.
The consequence for anyone reading this from New Zealand is simple, and worth knowing before you do the maths: the prices shown are export prices and exclude GST. A sale to a buyer within New Zealand attracts GST at 15%, so the figure on a listing is not the figure a New Zealand buyer would pay.
Put plainly: no car on this site is quoted with GST, because no car on this site is priced for a domestic sale. Viewed in NZD, every car price carries a small “+ GST” as the reminder: add 15% before comparing it with a car advertised locally.
A professional valuation of the figure to insure the car for: what it would cost to replace with an equivalent car today. Give it to your insurer to set an agreed value for your cover; it is accepted by most insurers. After an accident we can also value the car retrospectively, as it was before the crash, so you can check the insurer's offer against a fair figure.
What the car would realistically sell for today. This one is for a sale, an estate, a separation, a trust or a lender, among others.
NZ$250 + GST per vehicle, from your details and photographs. Or NZ$100 + GST for our estimate of its value overseas.
Tell us exactly the car you want and we help you buy it at the Japanese auctions. Searched weekly, bid to your limit, then shipped and cleared into New Zealand.
A NZ$1,000 + GST downpayment starts the search. It is non-refundable, and comes off our 7.95% + GST service fee. Minimum budget NZ$20,000.
An import request is a service, not a car sale: we buy the car on your behalf and are not responsible for its condition. Compliance and on-road costs are a separate service, charged separately if you would like us to handle them.
We store vehicles for customers who need somewhere to keep a car between buying it and taking delivery, or simply while life gets in the way.
NZ$500 + GST per month. Talk to us about what you need stored and for how long, and we will confirm availability.
You keep your own private insurance on the vehicle while it is with us. We are not responsible for its maintenance, its condition or its battery health while stored.
Buying a car here rather than exporting one? You can apply through Levr Finance, our New Zealand finance partner, for a private sale or a dealer purchase, anywhere in the country. It does not have to be a car of ours. Cars, boats, campers, you name it, they can finance it.
We couldn't load our reviews just now. They're all on our Google profile.
